Heritage Bank’s roots run deep in Central Illinois. Since 1920, when it was chartered as Trivoli State Bank, our focus has been to provide first-class service to our customers and a dedication to the community.
A Family Philosophy
Our commitment to the community comes from strong family values that span generations. Family values instilled in the organization by our original President Charles Fremont Opie, continued by his son Fremont Opie Jr. and championed by his daughter Shirley Hedden who today serves on the Board as Director Emeritus.
Scott Hedden, became President in 1986. Under his leadership, the bank has grown from a single branch to six full service branches throughout Central Illinois. He attributes this success to several factors. “Heritage has a strong set of corporate values that demands customers be treated fairly, courteously and competently,” he says. “We care about our customers and community and believe in treating people the way we like to be treated. In addition, we have the pride and leadership of our management group and the commitment and dedication of our officers and employees.”
Convenience
Today, Heritage has six locations throughout Central Illinois, along with several full service ATMs and Cash Machines, and 24/7 anywhere, anytime access to your accounts with our electronic banking options. We pride ourselves on providing our customers with the convenience they need and easy access to their accounts.
While remaining true to our roots in Trivoli and nearby Hanna City, we knew it was important to support growth in the Peoria area with branches on Willow Knolls and Harmon Highway in Peoria. In addition, we are the anchor tenant in Heritage Square in Peoria Heights and have a location on the first floor of GEM Terrace in East Peoria.
Technology
Keeping up with new innovation is key and Heritage continues to offer our customers the latest advancements in Technology. Since introducing our first ATM in 1983 and our first website in 2000, being a technology leader has been paramount to our success as a financial institution.
We have kept pace with the latest banking technologies, adding services such as Online Banking, Online Bill Pay, E-Statements and Mobile Banking. While making the safety and security of our customers a priority with features such as Enhanced Online Security to help protect our customers against fraud and identity theft, and our Watchdog notification alert service that keeps you posted on activity and balance levels in your accounts.
Today we provide our customers with electronic solutions that rival any of our competitors, big or small.
Giving Back
Over the years, the bank has prospered through reinvestment in Central Illinois and giving back to our local community. Whether lacing up for an awareness walk, donating to a toy drive or raising money for charity, you’ll see our employees making a difference in our community. In addition to bank-wide support for organizations such as St. Jude, Easter Seals, Southside Mission and Prairie State Legal Services, each Heritage branch feels a deep connection to the neighborhoods they serve.
One of our branch managers says it particularly well, “Being a community bank is very different than being a national bank. Heritage truly cares about the community, its customers and its employees...and we want to do what’s best for our local area.”
Our Commitment to You
Despite the present trend of consolidation and additional challenges in the banking and financial services industries, Heritage Bank of Central Illinois is committed to remaining an independent community bank with local ownership and management.
Offering traditional products and services for both Personal and Business Banking, we strive to utilize the latest technologies available in order to streamline services for customers, making banking easier and more convenient than ever before. In addition, state-of-the-art technology and advanced security measures keep you and your money safe.
“Heritage Bank of Central Illinois is committed to remaining an independent community bank with local ownership and management. Our one-on-one service, coupled with our extensive banking options,” explains Scott Hedden, “is what separates Heritage Bank from all the rest.”
