What is an Electronic Statement (E-Statement)?
An E-statement is the electronic version of your statement that is delivered to you via a password-protected e-mail with a password-protected PDF. It is printable, viewable and downloadable and is a faster alternative to receiving your statement through the U.S. Mail.

Is there a charge for E-Statements?
No. E-Statements are absolutely free!

What are the advantages of E-Statements?
Faster – no more waiting for traditional statement processing and mail delivery
Safer – accessible only with your password; plus you reduce the risk of lost or stolen paper statements
More Convenient – accessible anytime, anywhere

Will I continue to receive my paper statements in the mail?
No. By choosing to receive your statements electronically and completing the application, you elect to discontinue the mail delivery of the monthly paper statement.

Will I still receive my scanned check images and will my statement look the same as my current paper statement?
Yes. You will continue to receive your scanned check images and the statement will look exactly the same.

Are E-Statements safe?
Yes. Email notifications with your E-statement attached are encrypted and the statement itself is protected with the password you choose during enrollment.

What are the minimum computer requirements that are necessary to retrieve my E-Statement?
The following is required to access and open your E-statement:
A PC running Microsoft Windows 2000 operating system or higher, or Mac OS X 10.2 operating system or higher
Internet and Email access
Adobe Reader

What is the Adobe Acrobat Reader program and why do I need it?
Adobe Reader is a free software that lets you view and print Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) files on many hardware and operating platforms. You will need to use the software (version 6.0 or above) in order to download, display or print your E-statement. If you do not currently have the Adobe Reader program, you can download it for free by clicking the Reader icon to the right.

Will my statement cycle change?
No. Your statement cycle will remain the same. However, you will receive your statement much faster since it will automatically be sent via e-mail the first business day after the end of your statement cycle period.

Will I be able to save and print my E-Statements?
Yes. If you have the ability to save files to your hard drive or some form of removable media (such as a CD or Flash drive) then you will be able to store your E-statement on your hard drive or removable media.
You can print a copy of the statement with or without saving it to your computer or removable media.
NOTE: If you choose to store a copy of your E-statement on your computer or removable media, please remember to follow all security guidelines and perform regular backups of any important files. These security guidelines include maintaining the confidentiality of passwords and utilizing and updating virus protection and firewalls. Further, you should make sure your operating system has the most current updates. Heritage Bank of Central Illinois is not responsible or liable for the loss or theft of any files that you choose to save or store on a computer or any form of removable media.

Can I switch back to my paper statement?
You may cancel your E-Statement service at any time by contacting us. It may take as long as thirty (30) days from the time that Heritage Bank of Central Illinois receives your e-mail notice of cancellation for you to receive your next monthly paper statement.

If you do not receive your E-statement or if you have any further questions regarding E-statements, please contact Heritage Bank’s Electronic Services Division at 309-362-2130 during normal business hours.
